Jim, Ellie, Sloane
February 12, 2008 – 2:56 pmThis past weekend, I traveled through New York to arrive at Jersey City, where we continued interviewing patients. It was interesting and productive. Moki and I met Jim and his wife, Ellie and Ingrid (a reshoot). I stayed at the Hyatt, which is a really nice hotel affording a panoramic view of Manhattan — while costing about ½ of a Big Apple hotel (the picture above was taken from the hotel). It is a bit inconvenient to travel there, as my GPS was “confused” by some of the tricky intersections and tall buildings. But it was a great place to visit and it was pretty much the only place I could afford. Travelers: you can get a room with an outstanding breakfast for $179; with the AAA discount, excluding all the weird NJ taxes.
On the way back to Boston, I visited Sloane and her family and interviewed her in her lovely home. I’ll be writing short topics on each one of these interviews during the next several days. Many thanks to these patients for opening up their hearts and minds to all of us for this project.
